Reflections:
Creativity-Keiko Fujimori Caricature-1
Today I was inspired by the upcoming elections, and I drew and inked a Keiko Fujimori caricature. This was a hard task as getting the exaggeration and ressemblance right can be a really hard task. Apart from this, I really struggled to get the layout of the piece like I wanted it to be. Finally, I decided to sent my drawing to Somos(peruvian magazine) with some hope that they will like it.

Creativity-Alan Garcia Caricature-1, 2,
Yesterday after watching the debate between Alan and Poppy(presidential candidates) I decided to draw and ink an Alan vs Poppy Caricature piece. There were many challenging things in this piece but the most significant were the placement of the characters in space, the perspective involved, and the resemblance to the actual candidates. I feel pretty proud about this piece, and I think I have been successful at improving at every level. I consider this piece to be pretty complex as it took me quite some time to finish.

Creativity-Ringling College of the Arts Pre College Character/Environmental Design- 1 2, 3
Clocks Piece(Mysopian Throne Room):
This is the second piece I created for the Visual Development course at the pre college program. This piece was designed after the Mysopian throne room, which is supposed to be surreal and it is supposed to have large columns. I really struggle with perspective, so this piece was really challenging. I decided to interpret this room as the throne of the time king and I created like four thumbnails to show to my teacher(planning). Unfortunately/fortunately my teacher chose the most challenging thumbnail which included a bunch of clocks rotating around a giant throne. This piece really took me forever to finish, I stayed up working on it until 3 am in the morning. The end result was ground breaking for me, the perspective wasn't perfect but the teacher liked it and congratulated me on the hard work, although he said that he wanted all of the details to be apparent at first glance and that it kind of felt a little all over the place.
Gantour Piece:
This was the last piece I did for the visual development course. For this piece, I got the Gantour as a concept, which is supposed to be an elephantine beast of burden. For this piece I envisioned some sort of sluggish dirty huge caterpillar like creature which I created by referencing the ugliest creatures in the planet. In this piece I wanted to go all out, so I not only drew the monster, but I drew it destroying a village as people run for it. This also meant that I had to again use perspective, although not as complex as in the Clocks Piece. For this piece I stayed up till four in the morning and the result was amazing. I really stepped up my craft both in skill and in design. Some of my teachers critiques included that I should have also shown the back of the monster and that the posture of the people running was a little bit weird.

Creativity-ICC Mural Design-2, 3, 4
A week ago I created the ICC mural design, I did it based on an idea discussed with some people were there is a house and in front of it a greek style statue that had been pranked. Designing this mural was very frustrating because it was based on a frat house theme, but at the same time I had to keep it school appropriate. Apart from this making someone look like a statue is really hard, and I had a hard time drawing the house. I created this piece using adobe photoshop and a wacom tablet. Apart from this, I had to re-draw many parts after various feedback sessions with the ICC mural committee. After showing the design to the grade I feel that there have been mixed opinions on the way we have drawn it, but hopefully it will all work out, after all you can't please a rubric and a hundred people at the same time.

Service-Arts Week Mural-1, 2, 4
Day1:
Yesterday we started painting the Arts Week mural, the design was created by Jose Ignacio, and to be honest the design was pretty complex featuring four monochromatic squares that contained the same person in multiple poses at the same place. Moreover, the complexity of this design and the size of it led for me to have to step up my painting skills, and collaboration skills. Apart from this, we had no projectors today so we couldn't trace the image into the wall like we do with the icc mural. By the end of the day we had a rough sketch of the mural, I focused on the bottom left square.
Day 4:
Today I stayed after school to work on the mural, I am starting to feel disappointed by the lack of commitment of the other members as I am the only one to really be working on the mural for the last days. The variety of poses in the same place are really confusing me, and the wall paint is hard to manipulate/mix although I feel like the mural is starting to look cool. I have been approached by various teacher and students to congratulate me and the team for the work. Finally, working on something for a long time requires a lot of patience and motivation, and I honestly feel like i'm losing both.
